What is Yoga?

Yoga is often referred to as a practice of movement where particular poses in a sequence are accompanied with breath. This is a type of yogic practice, or more specifically, asana. Yoga is a Sanskrit word that can be translated to yolk. To yolk the physical body and the eternal soul is a state of yoga. Yoga is a state of being rather than a physical practice. There are tools in which we can study to bring us to this state of being we all desire such as asana, pranayama, meditation, journaling, movement, devotion, kirtan, and Ayurveda.
